Halvy Across America
zach halverson is driving across america...
...because he sucks at fantasy football! Last fall on KFAN's Power Trip Morning Show, Zach participated in the Charch Challenge, a weekly fantasy football league. At the end of the season, he finished last and will now have to serve the punishment, a solo drive from Philadelphia to Los Angeles.
The punishmentAll of the cities with teams the Minnesota Vikings lost to in the 2023 season were put on a wheel along with the six participants in the Charch Challenge. The wheel was spun twice, with Zach needing to fly to one city, then rent a car and drive to the second city before flying home. If it landed on a participant, they got to choose and, well, that is exactly what happened TWICE.
The wheel landed on John Kriesel, who picked Philadelphia. The second spin an hour later landed on Chris Hawkey who selected Los Angeles, forcing Zach into a cross-country, expensive and lonely road trip as Zach is not allowed to travel with anyone. He will also need to be up early each day, broadcasting live from 5:30 AM - 9 AM CT from wherever city he happens to be that day. |

The plan
Plans may change without notice!
Friday, May 24 - Minneapolis to Philadelphia to Pittsburgh
After the morning show, Zach will head to the airport to make the 2 hour, 35 minute flight to Philadelphia. This will be followed by a long drive to Pittsburgh where he will stay the night following nearly 1,300 miles of travel on day one alone! Saturday, May 25 - Pittsburgh to Indianapolis After leaving Pittsburgh, the I-70 tour continues on through Columbus, OH and on to Indianapolis! Sunday, May 26 - Indianapolis Zach will take a brief break from his long travel days in Indianapolis on Sunday to attend The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500! Monday, May 27 - Indianapolis to Kansas City One of the longest stretches on the trip, Zach will make his way through The Gateway Arch in St. Louis before a trek across Missouri before settling in Kansas City Tuesday, May 28 - Kansas City to Colby, KS The first remote broadcast of the journey will be from Kansas City form 5:30 AM to 9 AM! After that, Zach will hop right back on to I-70, stopping in Colby, KS, home of the award winning Country Fried Steak at Welcome Home Cafe! Wednesday, May 29 - Colby, KS to Denver After another live broadcast in Colby, it is on to one of Zach's favorite cities, Denver! A Colorado Rockies game may be in store, among other things... Thursday, May 30 - Denver to Richfield, UT 4;30 AM mountain time is when Zach will achieve his dream of broadcasting from Denver, Colorado! After the show, he will drive through the Rocky Mountains en route to Richfield, UT, a city known for having their own Wikipedia page! Friday, May 31 - Richfield, UT to Las Vegas Another morning, another Power Trip broadcast, this time from Utah! After the show, Zach will travel on the final stretch of I-70 after nearly 2,000 miles on that Intestate Highway alone! Just north of Beaver, he will hop on to I-15 which will take him to Las Vegas, Nevada! Saturday, June 1 - Las Vegas to Los Angeles One final stretch awaits Zach on Saturday, the classic I-15 drive between Las Vegas and, finally Los Angeles! Mission accomplished, hopefully. |

Be a part of halvy's Race Team!
When you become a part of Zach's race team, he will have your company's logo (or whatever else within reason) printed on a large, magnetic bumper sticker that Zach will put on his rental car at the beginning of the trip! Then, you can watch your brand travel across the United States of America, with people across 10 states and back in Minnesota seeing your logo (or face or whatever you want) via numerous social media posts from Zach documenting his journey! Plus, get special public shout-outs from Zach via his personal social media accounts and a private video thank you from the road!
Not to mention, once the trip is over you will receive the well-traveled bumper-magnet for you to use on your own vehicle, display in your own place of business or just put up on the fridge! |
